About the Mythbusters

Mythbusters, starring Adam Savage, Jamie Hyneman, and Kari Byron, takes you on a wild journey through the unexplored realms of fantastic myths and urban legends. They use extraordinary science to put these myths to the test and see if they're really all they're cracked up to be.

In each episode, the Mythbusters focus on two or three, or sometimes even more myths to bust. Normally they also have one large myth to concentrate on (usually handled by Jamie and Adam) while the other co-stars of Mythbusters focus on the smaller myths and urban legends. They test every aspect of each myth, and almost always end it by going above and beyond. For example if they're testing whether or not a falling bullet could kill someone, they'll not only test the bullet as it falls to the ground but also shoot the same bullet at a dead pig or something of that nature. It's no doubt that some of the theatrics on Mythbusters are just for the camera.

The Mythbusters use the power of math and science to test the myths but always demonstrate their theories. This is what makes the show so unique and entertaining. Not only do you get to see the theory behind a myth or urban legend, but then you get to see a bunch of goofy tv stars execute it. Adam and Jamie also take into account the history of the myth. They see if the myth would have been possible with the technology of the time. For example in the myth involving the Solar Death Ray, Jamie and Adam made certain to use solar panels that could have defiantely been made in the time of ancient Greece.

Each myth ends with either Busted, Plausible, or Confirmed. If a myth is Busted then the crew has proven that there's absolutely no way within the constraints of the myth that it could have really been achieved. Plausible means that there wasn't enough evidence to disprove the myth. And confirmed means exacty what it says: that the myth in question could have and most likely did happen.

Overall, the Mythbusters always manage to impress. With Jamie and Adam's extensive engineering and prop-building expertise they always seem to create an experiment that will keep you watching even through the commercials.
